Sarah Lozanova has swapped a skillet and a stove for a dehydrator and a blender.
A raw food enthusiast since 1999, Lozanova has been soaking seeds and sprouting grains for more than 10 years. Her husband and young daughter are “virtually 100 percent raw,” she said.
Lozanova is part of a small community of Madisonians who eat foods that are uncooked (not heated above 115 degrees Fahrenheit). Often “raw foodism” is a subset of veganism — vegans consume no animal products, including milk, honey and eggs.
